Daphy Michel, 31 — Froze to Death After ICE Release, Ruled a Homicide
Daphy Michel, a 31-year-old Haitian asylum seeker, was found dead of hypothermia at a Pittsburgh bus stop on March 2, 2026 — three days after ICE released her about 30 miles from her home. In June 2026, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office ruled her death a homicide, describing her as a vulnerable adult released without adequate means to reach safety.
