Violent ICE Raid in Passaic Sent Dozens to Detention and One Man to His Death

Immigration sweeps in Passaic, New Jersey have upended the community, with videos showing federal agents arresting dozens of people on the street and inside their homes — including at least one U.S. citizen. Residents said ICE presence rose sharply at the end of June and then became a daily occurrence. Among the more than a dozen people detained in Passaic on one day was Jose Chajon-Raxon, who was transferred to Delaney Hall in Newark and was dead less than four days later.
