U.S. Soldier's Wife Freed from ICE Detention as Deportation Attempt Continues

Stephanie Kenny-Velasquez, the wife of a U.S. Army Reserve Black Hawk pilot, was released from Houston ICE detention after a federal judge ruled her due process rights were violated during four months of custody. She was detained two days after her wedding during a routine immigration check-in despite having no criminal record. Her asylum hearing is scheduled for 2027.
