Temporary Protected Status Ends for More Than 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians
Temporary protected status ended Monday for more than 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians, leaving them exposed to deportation to countries still coping with violence and instability. In June the Supreme Court allowed the administration to end the 36-year-old program for both groups. “People are feeling like this country has let them down too,” said Patrick Brutus of the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce.
