Out of Sight in North Florida: Life Inside the “Deportation Depot”
Mother Jones reports on conditions at Baker Correctional Institution, the Florida state-run, GEO Group-operated “Deportation Depot” holding roughly 1,000 people. A DHS inspector general report noted the site had not been inspected by ICE’s Office of Detention Oversight, and detainees and relatives describe delayed medical care, including at least two men with seizures.
