Men In ICE Detention Centers Say Guards Deny Them Basics Like Laundry and Medication
Detained immigrants at Camp East Montana, the federal detention facility at Fort Bliss, say guards are denying them clean laundry, showers, adequate food, and medication, according to letters and interviews from dozens of detainees. The allegations surfaced after the January 2026 death of Cuban detainee Geraldo Lunas Campos, which the El Paso County medical examiner ruled a homicide. DHS disputed the claims, stating "at NO point has any detainee been denied laundry service."
