An ICE officer fatally shot Salgado Araujo, who ran a small construction business, as he drove three co-workers to a job site during a “targeted enforcement operation.” DHS said he ignored commands to stop and tried to ram an agent, who fired in self-defense; the workers riding in his van told an attorney the vehicle never endangered any agent. He was pronounced dead at Ben Taub Hospital. Mexico’s president vowed legal action, and his family is calling for an independent investigation.
