Number of Immigrant Kids in Georgia Foster Care Growing Amid ICE Crackdown
The number of children entering Georgia’s foster care system after their parents were detained or deported by ICE is growing, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Federal data show Georgia placed 34 children of immigrants in foster care in fiscal year 2025 — the most of any state, up from 10 the year before — as such placements nationwide rose nearly 49 percent.
