ICE Formally Withdraws Plans for Two Pennsylvania Detention Centers — Berks & Schuylkill Counties, PA

DHS formally withdrew plans to convert two Pennsylvania warehouses — in Tremont Township (Schuylkill County) and Upper Bern Township (Berks County) — into ICE detention centers holding up to 9,000 people combined, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced. His administration had denied the water and sewage permits needed to support the facilities.
