ICE Detained a Man Without a Warrant at Bridgeview Courthouse, Officials Say

Illinois state Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid said his office is investigating whether ICE violated state law when agents detained a man at the Bridgeview Courthouse on Wednesday without presenting a warrant. A 2025 order signed by then-Cook County Circuit Chief Judge Timothy Evans bars civil immigration arrests at county courthouses, and the Illinois TRUST Act restricts local cooperation with such enforcement. Rashid has called for a formal probe into the arrest.
