Georgia ICE Arrests Hit a Record in July, Half With No Conviction or Pending Charge

ICE made roughly 2,250 arrests in Georgia in July 2026, about 50% more than in May or June and the highest monthly total of the administration, ranking the state fourth nationally, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution analysis of Deportation Data Project records released through litigation. The AJC found that 51% of those arrested in July had neither a criminal conviction nor a pending charge. The paper attributed the rise to enforcement spreading beyond traffic stops and check-ins into places like airports, and to expanding partnerships with local law enforcement.
