Class Action Challenges “Inhumane” Conditions at Miami Correctional Facility, Indiana ICE Detention Site
The ACLU, the National Immigrant Justice Center and the MacArthur Justice Center filed a class action on October 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana over conditions at Miami Correctional Facility in Bunker Hill. The suit alleges denied epilepsy and HIV medication, solitary confinement, excessive force and an unaddressed sexual assault of named plaintiff Cynthia Acevedo, and says at least two people have died in custody there since 2025.
