Three Contractors Cited for Violations in Death of Worker Building Major ICE Detention Camp
OSHA cited three subcontractors — Base International, JMJ Production Services, and Fulfillment Personnel Services — for safety violations involving powered industrial trucks and struck-by hazards in connection with the July 2025 construction death of worker Hector Gonzalez at Camp East Montana at Fort Bliss, Texas. The facility, built under a $1.3 billion contract with Acquisition Logistics, became ICE's largest detention center, housing over 3,000 people at peak capacity and facing allegations of inhumane conditions, disease outbreaks, and the deaths of three detainees in December and January.
