The City: ICE Targeted NY Metro Latinos With 93% of Known Street Arrests

An investigation by The City, drawn from a database of more than 1,200 habeas-corpus lawsuits, identified 430 ICE street arrests across the New York metropolitan area — and found that more than 93% of those seized were Latino. That share far exceeds Latinos’ portion of the region’s undocumented population, providing one of the most concrete datasets to date showing racial disparity in field-level ICE enforcement.
