Seven Former Detainees Sue ICE Over Refusal to Return Their Papers and Belongings

Seven formerly detained people, represented in part by the ACLU of the District of Columbia, sued ICE on October 13, alleging it unlawfully refuses to return Social Security cards, work authorization documents, phones and other belongings months after their release. Plaintiff Vladimir Izmailov, a Russian asylum seeker, says ICE has held his documents and wedding ring for more than five months.
