Sen. Kim Returned to the ICE Facility Where He Was Pepper-Sprayed — and Found a Detainee in Agony

Sen. Andy Kim returned to Delaney Hall, the Newark immigration detention center where ICE agents pepper-sprayed him during a May protest, and said he found a detainee in visible agony and inadequate medical care inside. Kim is pressing federal officials to restore family visitation, speed up stalled immigration cases, and conduct a full medical audit of those held at the GEO Group-run facility, where roughly 300 detainees have been on hunger strike over conditions.
