Salt Lake City Warehouse (6020 W. 300 South) — Salt Lake City, UT

DHS bought an 833,000-square-foot warehouse and its 24.9-acre parcel at 6020 W. 300 South from Chicago-based RREEF Management for $145.44 million in March 2026, without notifying the city's leaders, Utah's governor or the state's congressional delegation. Mayor Erin Mendenhall said federal officials described plans for a “mega” hub holding 7,500 to 10,000 people drawn from across the Intermountain West. Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County sued DHS and ICE over the plan in June 2026.

Abandoned: On July 17, 2026, the government told the plaintiffs it no longer intends to convert the site and will designate it excess property for disposal by the General Services Administration — disclosed publicly in an August 19 joint motion to stay filed in the U.S. District Court for Utah. Unlike the west-side proposal above, this one was dropped by the government rather than refused by the owner.
