Renee Good’s Family Files Two Lawsuits Over Her Killing by an ICE Officer in Minneapolis

October 1, 2026 Minneapolis, MN NPR Legal Action
The family of Renee Good, 37, filed two civil suits over her January 2026 shooting by ICE officer Jonathan Ross during the Minnesota enforcement surge. One is a wrongful-death claim against the United States alleging excessive force in violation of ICE policy and the Fourth Amendment; the other alleges a conspiracy to interfere with civil rights under the 1871 Ku Klux Klan Act. NPR reports that video contradicted officials’ claim that Good used her vehicle as a weapon.
