Pregnant Woman Held at Bluebonnet Detention Center Describes Raw Chicken, Malnutrition and Fear
The Marshall Project tells the story of Maria, arrested at a Dallas ICE check-in in October 2025 while pregnant and held at the Bluebonnet Detention Center north of Abilene. ICE released her in April, when she was eight months pregnant. Her medical records reportedly show high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, low weight gain and gaps in prenatal vitamins, and a federal judge denied her release petition in December.
