Pregnant Washington Woman Detained at Asylum Interview Is Released After a Day and a Half
Cece Mokua, 29 and five months pregnant, was detained by ICE on September 17 when she arrived at what she believed was a USCIS asylum interview, then taken to the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma. She was released about a day and a half later but now faces new deportation proceedings; supporters suspect a pretext arrest and ICE gave no explanation.
