ICEd Out: Detention Center Plans Meet Resistance in Pennsylvania
The Department of Homeland Security has spent more than $1 billion buying nearly a dozen warehouses across several states to convert into immigrant detention centers as part of the Trump administration’s mass deportation initiative. Two of the sites are in rural Pennsylvania — Tremont Township in Schuylkill County among them — where residents are mounting organized resistance to the plans.
