Two Pa. Democrats Become First Members of Congress to Access Moshannon Valley ICE Facility
U.S. Reps. Summer Lee and Chris Deluzio became the first members of Congress allowed inside the 1,900-bed Moshannon Valley Processing Center, the largest immigration detention facility in the Northeast. After a nearly two-hour guided tour, the Pittsburgh-area Democrats said they heard “real concerns” from detainees but were blocked from conducting full oversight when their interpreters were denied entry. Deluzio said internal records showed a “large majority” of detainees had no violent-crime charges, contradicting Trump administration justifications for the detention buildup.
