NYCLU Sues Over 2025 Cato Factory Raid, Alleging Wrong Warrants and Wrongful Deportation

A year after the September 4, 2025 raid at Nutrition Bar Confectioners in Cato, the NYCLU filed a federal lawsuit for four plaintiffs, including a U.S. citizen and a man deported to Guatemala. They allege suspicionless seizures and wrongful detention by federal agents and the Cayuga and Oswego County sheriffs. The NYCLU says agents used the wrong warrants and held no arrest warrants.
