Mother Sues ICE Contractor MVM and Sonesta Hotel for Confining Her and Her Baby in a Hotel Room

Valentina Galvis, a Colombian asylum seeker, sued ICE contractor MVM Inc. and Sonesta hotel entities on September 29 for false imprisonment. She alleges that she and her then 7-month-old U.S.-citizen son were confined for five days in a room at the Sonesta Chicago O’Hare Airport hotel in Rosemont after her June 2025 arrest at a Chicago immigration court.
