Lawsuits Seek to Hold Midway Blitz Agents Accountable in Lieu of State Charges

Six Chicago-area residents filed lawsuits targeting federal immigration agents who allegedly harmed them during Operation Midway Blitz, the deportation campaign that swept the city and surrounding suburbs last fall. At a news conference in Federal Plaza, their lawyers said they brought the civil suits because Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke has not filed any criminal charges directly related to the operation.
