Kurdish Film-Maker Recounts ‘Inhumane’ ICE Force-Feeding at Port Isabel

Gabar Choli, a Kurdish film-maker and activist, described being shackled, pinned down and force-fed over roughly eight months of a hunger strike while held in a solitary confinement medical cell at the Port Isabel Service Processing Center in Texas. He recounted guards charging into his cell repeatedly and a feeding tube shoved in so hard it tore his nose, and described lasting physical and psychological harm. Choli, since deported, is now living in Canada and spoke publicly about the treatment for the first time.
