Judge Rules Wisconsin Islamic Leader Salah Sarsour Can Be Deported
Immigration Judge Jayme Salinardi ruled that Salah Sarsour, Palestinian-born president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, is removable under a rarely used Cold War-era provision, citing in part a Rubio memo. The judge rejected DHS claims that he lied on his green card application or illegally registered to vote. Sarsour calls the case politically motivated and plans to appeal; the ruling does not mean immediate deportation.
