ICE Seeks to Sell Romulus Warehouse Bought for a Detention Center
The federal government is seeking to sell a Romulus warehouse purchased for an ICE detention center, along with six other warehouses whose detention plans were scrapped over the summer; the Project On Government Oversight first reported the intent to sell. ICE paid $34.7 million for the 249,000-square-foot building, and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced in June that the plan had been dropped.
