A Mother Jones investigation examines ICE taking children who crossed with a parent into Office of Refugee Resettlement custody and classifying them as unaccompanied. It follows a Venezuelan father, identified by the pseudonym Luis, detained at Camp East Montana in El Paso in April, and his 11-year-old son, Andres, a pseudonym, whom ICE removed around midnight and who was placed in Texas foster care.
