ICE Arrested at Least Nine People in Vermont as Enforcement Ramps Up Statewide
ICE arrested at least nine people across Vermont over a single weekend in three separate operations, several of them workers heading to or from job sites, VTDigger reported. Five construction workers were arrested in Londonderry and one person in White River Junction on August 7, and an operation in Cornwall on August 8 led to the arrest of two roof repairmen. Immigration attorneys told VTDigger that group arrests at workplaces and during commutes are rare in Vermont, and that the weekend stood out both for the number of arrests and for their form.
