ICE Arrests Mother of Girl Who Died in I-17 Rollover Crash in Phoenix

Brenda Liliana Rivera-Estrada, 30, a Mexican citizen, was taken into ICE custody on an immigration detainer following a rollover crash on northbound Interstate 17 near Peoria Avenue on April 12 that killed her 9-year-old daughter, who was ejected from the vehicle. Prosecutors alleged she was driving while impaired and speeding with her four children aboard, and she was initially held on a $100,000 bond; county prosecutors did not file charges, and she was released from local custody before ICE detained her. She will remain in ICE custody pending her immigration case.
