GEO Group Misses Colorado Public Health Deadline in Aurora Tuberculosis Case
The GEO Group, the private company that runs Colorado’s only immigration detention center, missed a compliance deadline set by the state health department to turn over information about a tuberculosis case at its Aurora facility, Colorado Newsline reported. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment had issued a public health order on the matter and given the company a deadline to respond. The missed deadline is the latest step in a months-long standoff in which state investigators have been blocked from inspecting the facility.
