GAO Recommends ICE Body Cameras Activate Automatically; DHS Rejects the Recommendation

A Government Accountability Office report released October 14 found ICE and CBP need better oversight and guidance on body-worn cameras. GAO recommended that ICE cameras activate automatically, as CBP’s already do. DHS agreed with six of seven recommendations but rejected automated activation. GAO found ICE had issued 4,800 cameras as of April.
