First Deportation Flight Lands in Haiti After TPS Suspension

An ICE charter carrying more than 160 Haitian nationals landed in Cap-Haïtien — the first deportation flight to Haiti since the US supreme court upheld the Trump administration’s power to strip roughly 350,000 Haitians of Temporary Protected Status, the Guardian reported. Haiti remains in the grip of gang violence and displacement that prompted the protections in the first place. The State Department continues to advise Americans not to travel to the country.
