Emails obtained by American Oversight through FOIA and reviewed by the Washington Post show DHS cut training for local police deputized under 287(g) from four in-person weeks to 40 virtual hours. Lessons on immigrant classifications and removal charges were shortened and real-world field scenarios were dropped.
