Danbury Residents Express Fear and Anger as ICE Arrests Escalate

ICE detained at least 53 people in Danbury over three days in late August — 16 on Monday, 12 on Tuesday and 25 on Wednesday. Residents and activists shouted at state officials, including Gov. Ned Lamont and Rep. Jahana Hayes, over what they called an insufficient response, and some called for investigations into local police cooperation with ICE.
