Federal Judge: ICE ‘Noncompliant’ With Court Order to Stop Illegal Warrantless Arrests in Colorado

A federal judge in Denver ruled that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Colorado have continued making warrantless arrests in violation of federal law and a November preliminary injunction ordering the agency to halt the practice. The judge said ICE has not produced sufficient evidence of compliance with the order and warned of further sanctions, in a case that grew out of the Aurora-area enforcement surge that swept up legal residents and people with no criminal record.
