Chicago Man Deported in ‘Error’ Struggles to Adjust After Feds Returned Him to the U.S.

Jose Enrique Ojeda Duarte, a 31-year-old Venezuelan asylum-seeker swept up in Operation Midway Blitz, spent seven months in detention centers before U.S. officials deported him to Caracas in April. The federal government then made a rare admission that his deportation was an error and returned him to the United States in June. Ojeda Duarte says he has been struggling to rebuild his life in Chicago since the reversal.
