‘Dire’ Conditions at ICE Facility Severely Violate Human Rights, Lawsuit Claims
The first lawsuit over Camp East Montana — the largest immigration detention facility in the United States — was filed against ICE, accusing the agency of “dire,” “dangerous and abusive” conditions that severely violate the human and constitutional rights of those held at the Texas camp. The class-action complaint, brought by a coalition of legal organizations on behalf of detainees, describes inadequate medical care, overcrowding, and abusive treatment inside the El Paso-area facility.
