Body Camera Video Shows Inside of 2025 Immigration Raid at a Cato, New York Factory

Body camera footage from the September 4, 2025 raid on the Nutrition Bar Confectioners plant in Cato, a town of 2,500 east of Syracuse, shows federal agents entering the facility, separating employees by citizenship status, questioning workers and detaining them. In one scene officers break into a locked bathroom where female employees were inside; in another a Border Patrol agent makes disparaging comments about children from other countries. The video surfaced in a lawsuit filed by the New York Civil Liberties Union and the Worker Justice Center of New York alleging that authorities overstepped their search warrants. Of the 57 people arrested, only five were criminally charged, the most serious charge being unlawful reentry. DHS said it executed a criminal search warrant as part of an investigation that remains open and did not address the video.
