Appeals Court Poised to Allow Contempt Probe of DHS Deportation Flights to El Salvador
The full D.C. Circuit heard roughly three hours of argument on whether U.S. District Judge James Boasberg may resume a criminal contempt inquiry into Trump officials over 2025 flights that sent more than 100 Venezuelan men to a Salvadoran prison. DOJ called the probe unlawful and futile; Judge Patricia Millett said the district court needs to find out what happened and who gave the advice.
