Aled Damien Carbonell-Betancourt, a 27-year-old man from Cuba, was found in his cell at Federal Detention Center Miami at approximately 6:30 a.m. on April 12, 2026 — one day after the 16th death of the year. His death makes it the 17th reported ICE detention death of 2026, with the pace holding at an average of one death every six days.
