Advocates Say Man ICE Was Pursuing in Houston Vehicle Strike Died Years Ago

October 17, 2026 Houston, TX The Guardian / AP Use of Force
The Houston advocacy group FIEL said the man ICE named as its target in the October 10 pursuit appears to have died years ago, and that the photo ICE released is of a different man whose daughter provided a death certificate. A Harris County DA spokesperson told AP only that the named target was not in the vehicle. Miguel Parra Hernandez, 48, a construction worker from Mexico, remains hospitalized with multiple leg fractures. ICE did not respond to requests for comment.
