ACLU Asks Court for Injunction and Independent Monitor at Camp East Montana Over “Unsafe” Conditions

The ACLU Foundation, ACLU of Texas, Texas Civil Rights Project and Farella Braun + Martel filed a motion for a preliminary injunction on October 15 in the class action brought in May over conditions at Camp East Montana. The filing alleges physical abuse by guards, filthy living conditions and disease outbreaks, including measles and TB, and asks for an independent monitor. DHS has called inhumane-conditions claims “categorically false.”
