More than 145,000 U.S. children have likely experienced the detention of a parent by immigration authorities since the start of Donald Trump’s second term, according to a new Brookings Institution report. The study found that roughly 36% of the affected children were younger than six years old, underscoring how mass enforcement is separating very young children from their parents.
